  • reviews and ratings

The best way to find out what and who is the best, is to read what others thought was the best or not the best (phew!). Our review system promises to help both guests and hosts to make all those difficult decisions! What to book and who to accept when they apply for a booking. So if you have stayed at a space anywhere in world or have hosted someone (again...from anywhere in the world) please do leave a review (Launchpad>My Stays>Previous Stays) or (My Listing>Bookings>Previous Bookings) to help fellow FlatNav-ers!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • perfect listing

Please make sure your listing is as clear and detailed as possible. Bullet points always help. Please mention all the things your guests should and should not expect from the space when they visit. Some of the things to take particular note are as follows:
True and detailed description of the property (interior and exterior) Lay down clear rules of what you expect from your guets Take clear and high quality pictures and take loads of them(if FlatNav hasn't yet visited you) Mention clearly if there is any security deposit to be paid on arrival Mention clearly the amount of money to be charged for cleaning.

  • insurance

We advise all hosts to check with their insurance providers or mortgage lenders if renting their space out short term will somehow impact their existing cover. In our experience, most providers accommodate such requests and should not have a problem. However, you are strongly advised to check the details with them.

    HOSTS
    - Profile - We suggest you go through, in detail, the profile of your prospective guest. We aim to put as much information as possible helping you to know the person who has requested for a booking at your space. Don't hesitate to do a manual search on other networking sites to or just ask your guest a question! - Questions - Please ask questions and keep all communication on FlatNav. You have to be comfortable when accepting a booking so “chatting” is always good! - Plenty of time - You have 24 hours to do your research so please try to get as much information regarding the person and the trip as possible. - Reviews - Rule of thumb; a good guest will have good review, but dont hesitate to book people with no review. There is always a start! - Follow your heart - Yes we said it! To be honest in the end, it's your space and if you don't feel right about your prospective guest you are under no oath to accept a booking. But please remember, the members of FlatNav believe in the element of trust and community hence it will be rare that you will be feel "unsafe" about a guest.

    HOSTS
We suggest that you prepare your place for the arrival of your guest. The space should be clean when you guest arrives so he/she feels welcomed. You should always try and make him/her/them feel at home. This will, in the end, help you as they will take extra care of your property.
If you are not around to welcome your guest, you can always use NAV+ (currently in central London only). Its Simple, Secure and Safe!
If you don't want the keys to be managed by us, make sure there is someone who can hand over the keys to your guest on your behalf.
It is also suggested that your let your neighbours know about your guests as unfamiliar faces in smaller towns and blocks of flats don't go unnoticed.

    GUESTS
We know that your trip is very important to you and you want to make most of out! Thus please make sure you have the exact details of your booking i.e. maps, contacts for nearest hospital, shops and police station.
Please also make arrangements for the usable items you might need while away from home. Shampoo, soap and all that. Please do ask the host in advance if these are included.
Most of the time, your host will be around to help you out with any problems or questions you have. If not then we are here for you! Ask us for anything and we can guide you! Please email us or chat to us (see that widget at the bottom of the page)!
